2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries

1/2 cup tap water
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 or 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- If your berries are large, then slice them before measuring. In a large saucepan combine the strawberries, water, sugar and lemon juice. Bring the mixture to a boil. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. Reduce the heat and simmer the mixture for 5 full minutes. Remove from the heat and cool. Transfer to a glass canning jar or other container.
Makes about 3 cups or 24 servings, 2 tablespoon each.
