Oh, What A Weekend!

This weekend was so crazy in a very good way. I did some writing on request and was told it was really amazing. That made my weekend amazing right there. That was great. Maggie spent Friday night at a big slumber party. Apparently she was cracking jokes and being fun. I am glad I opted out of being a helper so she could be herself. This warms my heart. I would share a picture but, unsure of some of the parents wanting their kids on my blog.

Saturday, I joined a group on Facebook called The Full Body Project. I submitted a picture and this is it. This is what I wore Saturday during the day. New dresses make me smile. Well, new to me ones.

Saturday night I went to an old school friends house. They have a bar in their garage. It wa spretty awesome and I may have drank a bit too much. Well, enough to talk way too much on the way home and in text. But, nothing I said was lies or regrets. Just me bold on wine and some kind of vodka drink. Which I will be making soon.

Sunday was so busy but, not in a bad "I want to go home and die" kind of way. My friend Jessica (who does my tattoos) went on a wild adventure to find a place to walk/hike in the rain. It was so much fun. We ended up at a park with a hilly path. Since there was water flow from the rain we had to do some jumping.

I fell on some slippery mud and rocks. I laughed because it was pretty funny. We had a ball.

Jessica made Waylon his own Martian. He loves is and has named it Google Chrome. He likes that it has a rocket toy. I think it will be well loved.

Yea....it's not a lazy eye

This morning when I was taking my vanity picture because, I am so very vain....I noticed a familiar problem. One eye appearing smaller than the other and one eyebrow lower. Some years back I had Bells Palsy. I woke up with half of my face paralyzed. Let me tell you I was rather scared, and off balance. Being the overthinker I am, I thought I had had a stroke. Turns out it was not, rejoicing music que.

I got to take steroids and wear an awesome eye patch. There was also numerous creams for my eye so I would not have vision loss. Let me tell you it was a glamorous eight weeks. Even my hearing was horrible. The ear on that side was so sensitive I could not enjoy music, I had withdraws from Loretta Lynn big time. The Cure made my skin crawl and Linkin Park sent me into convulsions.

Little did I know though that Bells Palsy is a virus related to chicken pox...weird I know. Also, with talking to an online friend, I found out it is reoccurring...it can return and she had it return once when she was at a Chris Issak concert and he was super friendly with her. Okay, back on track.....where was I? Oh, yeah the virus...I looked more into it this morning since my face has a slight tingle and it turns out it is very common in those with Epstein-Barr virus which causes Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

So I started thinking back to when I began my cycles of complete and utter periods of exhaustion...BINGO! When I had Bells Palsy it when it began. How the crap have I gone nearly seven years without putting that together? If my doctor refuses to test, I guess I will need to find a new doctor since she assumed it was my thyroid..which I do not think causes facial paralysis. I could be wrong, seeing how I don't have a degree and all....but, I know I am not!

If I end up in an eye patch again I will defiantly have to decorate it or something. Well, now that you know why my face looks odd from time to time...you can go out and buy some eyepatches.

Hey Baby, What's The Skinny?

In an effort to shed some of my fluff I have taken up walking, biking and hopping (again). After five kids and a hormone imbalance....I could stand to drop some inches and pounds. It seems something is out to keep me unmotivated. I lost six pounds, my shoes got too big and boobs got smaller. Go me??!!! So I ended up with blisters, gave the shoes away. So I thought to myself "What the heck, Button? Strap on your sandals and walk like Jesus." The strap busted! I was going to grab out my Minnetonka Moccasins when I remember my zipper broke at the Candlebox/Third Eye Blind concert.  Really, was I destined to walk the dirty streets of the barrio barefoot? No, I had my Christmas shoes put up. So I biked in them and walked in them....blister city!

No fear a Facebook friend helped me find a new pair that should be here soon!

Hooping brings me such joy. I put on my music and just go for it. I mostly do things with my upper body and am working on leg hooping. Last night I was outside with my headphones on, just going for it. The sun was setting and the air was cool....it was perfect. My lil' Hezzie was playing in the mud watching me. At one point he was trying to throw a bouncy ball into my hoop as it was in the air....glorious awesome.

Flowering Plants...Friends... OH MY!

I have been out in the garden more these days. Thank you summer for coming around. I have been able to pick various beans and peas. YUM! Although, my garden is much smaller than last year I am still happy. At one point I thought I had lost it all. So I am pleasantly pleased to say the least.

I have some hopes of having more time with some old friends this summer. Lots of plans nothing real definite except, Saturday night. Sometimes I overthink I pressume people will have a horrible time with me. Then I realize if I am not cool enough for them, it's because I am a nerd. Oh, I know that I am but, it is okay.

In other news I started walking again. Lucky me I have been encouraged in my weightloss by my husband and my good friend Jeremy. Jimmy is going to get me some new shoes since my little weightloss has shrunk my feet and blisters are not fun.

This weekend we plan on going to a PowWow and scarfing on Indian Tacos. Wonder if I will be awake enough for Saturday night?

I Think A Lot

Sometimes I feel like I have nothing to say. That in itself is funny because I have busy brain, really this thing does not stop. Mid conversation about grocery shopping and I am thinking about a million other things and feelings. Not sure if that makes sense to other people but, that is how I function.

Lately, I have been thinking about my death and my husbands death. I know not ideal for a 35 year old. But, that is some of what is on my mind. If I die before my husband what will he do? Who will he be with? Will she be nice to my kids? Basically, he would need someone. We had this talk while I was in the shower. He kind of chuckles because he knows something is always on my mind. I gave him a short list of ladies I think he would pair up nice with and that I think the kids would like. I know it's weird. It's also more likely he would pass first.

We still need life insurance because part of the plan (if we still have kids in the home) is travel. Take the kids at home around the country or continent. Let them see things and experience more  than what is in our reach. Then I started thinking, because I always think, why should we wait? Really is there a good reason we should wait for one of us to die? Plus, I get tired driving, I would need a driver....a manly driver because woman make me crazy. So I think we need to travel more. Go somewhere more than two hours away. I want my kids to see the Redwoods, the Grand Canyon and Mt. Rushmore. I want my kids to learn young to live and enjoy life. Enjoy the people you love and the people who love you. Sometimes, those people are not the same.

 

Back to the death conversation, my husband does not want me to remain "single and alone". That was nice to hear and he only threw out one name. Sadly, it wasn't Mark Harmon (he's married).But, I know in reality that is not how it works but, it was a nice conversation. Also, cremation is in both of our futures. Morbid maybe, but it makes me happy getting it out.

I have been watching a show called "Extreme Makeover: Weightloss Edition". It has inspired me. Now I need to start back up walking. A friend of mine has been walking and even though we can't walk together maybe we can motivate each other. Like walking buddies who encourage each other. I am down six pounds, probably from being six. And let me get it out I was 249lbs now I am 243 lbs. That is insane for someone has short as I am. Bleh! So I need to get down 120lbs to me in my "target" weight range! At some point I know I will need to step it up past walking and bike riding. For now...this is what I got. Either that or the cumulus cloud that inhabits the front of my body will take over.

Been Sick and what not

Not only have I been sick. These are two of the five cute faces who were sick as well. Not cool.

I missed a lot of things being sick, but it looks like it was a good thing. I would have been upset, hurt and miserable anyhow. Looking forward to this weekend, we have the Autism Rocks Festival and going to spend fathers day with my friend Angie and her family. It will be cool to see her and her boys. Jimmy and her hubby get a long which is  weird. He is not usually friends with males. He really does need a good female friend. He thinks most men are macho and showy. He cracks me up....oh wait my best friend is male and thinks the same thing. There must be a reason they are in my life.

I really wish my ear was not plugged up still. I feel like I have a nasty ear. Kind of gross but, the high cost of having allergies and remaining off of medications for them. Once my balance is back I need to start going to roller derby and see if I can balance myself.

For now that would be all.

Oh Boy!

A while back I was hit from behind in a rental car. My tailbone was hurting for awhile and it passed before I could get my x-ray. Now the right side of my hip is in pain. So I guess I need to follow up. Really hoping this is temporary.

We are planning our move to Austin. I am excited but, also kind of sad because I have a few good people I will miss. You know, the kind of people you wish would just move where you move, and become the family you wish you had? Yep a few of those.

I have been doing more with my life that I am interested in. Taking the kids out more doing this and that.

I want to do as much as possible in California before we leave. I can't wait til we go to the Mission in Oceanside and to the surf museum. The surf museum is a surprise for Waylon as he is interested in surfing. He is an amazing kid. He is four years old and wide eyed. I still can not believe he will be five this month!

Meet Veruca

This is Veruca. She is my middle toe and my left foot. She is a loverly shade of purple-blue on her underside. Yesterday a White Sewing Machine attacked th whole foot and she suffered the wrath of heavy metal. I let out a nice "Shit!" when it happened. Then went on limping around trying to finish cleaning my house. I had to sit down and ice my foot.

That is when it was noticed I had a blue toe. I named her Veruca. She is mean and nasty and demanding. "STAY OFF ME!" Oh Veruca, don't you know I have a husband, five kids and two dogs to tend to? Don't you know that I need to clean, cook and lose some of this winter weight? Oh Veruca, please please go away.

Veruca has a contusion, stone bruise or whatever you want to call it. She needs to be elevated and iced. Spoiled brat!

Well, for now that is all on her. She does not need so much attention.

Weight Gain

I find it hard to accept that I have gained part of my weight loss back...mostly in my belly area. Winter did not provide me with many opportunities for fitness. We were hurting for money for most of it so no gyms, no exercise DVD's. Once Jimmy's work started to pick up it was too late for me to go for a walk, nevermind I only had a pair of slip ones and some moccasins. I scored a pair on NWT Nike's at a thrift shop last month and need to now buy socks. Yes, socks. I only own tights. Now that days are longer I can get up and walk one of the dogs, I can alternate days.

Also, I blame too much boxed food. Yes, I fell victim to hamburger helper for lunch for awhile. BAHH! Followed by weeks of being on my ass because of tooth pain and Hezzie's hospitalization. By, the way he is doing awesome.

I am starting my garden soon and hope to continue through all the seasons. I am also hoping to get my Madsen back on the road. :D
