Yesterday we added a new friend. Her name is Nixie. She is a White Rock Hen. She lays an egg a day. I know that isn't much for our family of seven. But, if we save them all week we can all have one egg with our pancakes on Sunday. We have a nice size area fenced off for her and are considering fencing off another area for more hens. She likes to eat other hens...so she has to be separate. Since it is just her for now, she has free roam of the backyard during the day. As you can see Maggie has already fallen in love with her.
